PMQ|PMQ and Shanghai Tang jointly present the retrospective exhibition "A Journey Od Rediscovery – Thirty Years of Shanghai Tang", retracing the brand's legend and embarking on a sensory fashion journey of contemporary "Chinese style"

PMQ has always been a promoter of design and fashion brands. It coincides with the 30th anniversary of Shanghai Tang, the legendary luxury brand founded in 1994. PMQ, one of Hong Kong’s creative landmarks, and Shanghai Tang will hold an exhibition from November 27 to December 15. Japan and Japan jointly present the retrospective exhibition of "A Journey Od Rediscovery – Thirty Years in Shanghai". This exhibition is one of the programs of the Hong Kong Fashion Festival organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. It is funded by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Office. It will display hundreds of Shanghai Tang brand collections, precious fashion and lifestyle classics, and cooperate with FabriX Digital technology triggers interaction and imagination, allowing visitors to explore the Shanghai Tang brand's unique "Chinese style" aesthetics that incorporates a contemporary perspective, and understand the Shanghai Tang brand's history and legend over the past thirty years.
Travel through the past, present and future of Shanghai
The spirit of Shanghai Tang originates from the concept of "Chinese style" in art history. It takes the East as a source of inspiration, combines it with Western culture, and incorporates imagination, ultimately forming a unique artistic style that is unique to this company. Over the past thirty years, Shanghai Tang has continued to inherit traditional Chinese crafts from a contemporary perspective, disassembled classic cultural elements, and re-injected "Chinese style" aesthetics into fashion and life details, making an undoubted contribution to cultural innovation and the influence of global luxury goods.
The exhibition is divided into different areas, including Jianghua Time Tunnel, Hall of Fame, Shanghai Tang Curio Cabinet, Shanghai Tang x FabriX cultural heritage combining technology, FabriX immersive video experience, classics and idols, FabriX AR try-on and Mobile Desktop fashion embroidery. Combining hundreds of brand treasures and materials with digital technology, it interprets the essence of the brand's history - from the memories of the five senses brought by Shanghai Tang's iconic ginger flower fragrance to the whimsy of haute couture, it is like stepping into a time travel. The treasure house of time and space, about the inspiration of Chinese style, the inheritance and innovation of craftsmanship, can be seen before your eyes, and you can travel between the fragments of history. Chinese photographer Chen Man’s symposium shares creativity
In order to grandly celebrate the 30th anniversary of the brand's founding, Shanghai Tang specially invited Chen Man, a famous mainland female photographer with whom she has collaborated for a long time, to come to Xiangjiang on December 15 to host a symposium, talking about everything from the classic promotional photos in 2012 to the 2024 autumn and winter series. Design, sharing bits and pieces of her creative collaboration with the brand over the years, giving the audience the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the brand’s style evolution.
